Pickett's Mill Pirates,
I am very excited to start my second year at Pickett's Mill Elementary! Before coming to Pickett's Mill I ran a Math Lab at Lewis Elementary for 2 years. In the past I was a Math Specialist for 2 years at Austell Elementary. I have also been a classroom teacher in kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade. This will be my 18th year teaching. I received my bachelor, masters, and specialist degrees in Early Childhood Education from the State University of West Georgia. I have also earned a Reading Endorsement, Science Endorsement and Gifted Endorsement. I have had a lot of extra training in math while being a Math Specialist and Math Contact. I am currently part of Cobb's Teacher Leader Academy for Math. I have been married for 17 years to Doug and we have two daughters. Aliya Jade is in fourth grade at Pickett's Mill and Alayna Jane is a freshman at Allatoona. We have a puppy named Luna who we adore. I feel very blessed to have a job that is so rewarding and that I enjoy! I truly believe that every child can learn but not always in the same way. I also believe that every parent wants the best for their child and wants to help them but does not always have the tools.
