This website has most any math manipulative that you could want in an easy to use format. You can download the apps on a tablet or use them directly on the website. 2nd Graders are using the "Number Pieces" this week in the lab as virtual base ten blocks and it is helping them see regrouping when adding multi-digit numbers.
I am doing a little coding with the students during conference week. 3rd-5th graders are using the website www.code.org . K-2 is using an app called Coding for Kids. Many of the students really enjoyed it so I am sure they would like to practice some more at home.
We are using the Singapore Bar Model Drawing model for problem solving in Math Lab. There is an interactive activity on Math Playground (and an app version) called Thinking Blocks. If your child could spend some time on this interactive activity at home, it would help them with problem solving and what we are doing in the lab. They will have some time in Computer Lab one day soon to work on this website too.
