I am doing a little coding with the students during conference week. 3rd-5th graders are using the website www.code.org . K-2 is using an app called Coding for Kids. Many of the students really enjoyed it so I am sure they would like to practice some more at home.
Georgia Parent Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. Parents that do not have access to the Internet may complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. Parent survey data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

Third- Fifth graders will have a 24 tournament in the math lab next week. 24 is a great game to help with fact fluency and mental math. The goal is to be the first one to make 24 using 4 numbers using multiplication, division, addition, and/or subtraction. The third graders are playing a modified version to start with where they only use addition and subtraction to make different numbers.
There are various aps that you can download so that your child can practice the game by searching 24 in the app store. There are also some websites that have similar games your child can play.
The game is available on Amazon at
I'm looking forward to announcing the class and grade level winners next week!
